ID No : | 243 Edit | Title: | Proceedings of the Next Generation Exploration Conference - 2 - Entrepreneurial Opportunities in Lunar Development, 2008 |
Summary / Review : |
A conference reserved for young people, average age 28, perceived to be potential leaders in the next generation, by invitation only, a total of 100 people, sponsored by NASA and held at the Ames Research Center, this is the final report.
Of notable interest is their attempt to have virtual participation by webcams whereby remote participants were represented by "avatars". This was generally a disappointment, as conference attendees found the avatars to be less serious or focused and many found it as a distraction. The virtual participation experiment came out of the NASA CoLab conference facilitation tool effort, see also www.nasacolab.org |
